Storage Red began in 2015 with a simple idea and two storage buildings constructed on some extra land we owned next to one of our apartment buildings in Mount Vernon, Ohio. What started as a small investment quickly turned into something much bigger. We soon discovered there was a strong need for quality self-storage in our community, and we began looking for opportunities to grow.

In 2021, we expanded into Ashland, Ohio, opening our second location. In 2024, we continued growing with another facility in Mount Vernon. This new location features smart lock technology, allowing customers to conveniently access their storage units using their smartphones without the hassle of traditional keys or padlocks.

In 2025, we purchased an existing storage facility in Fredericktown, Ohio, further expanding our presence in Knox County.

Today, we're preparing to open our fifth location in Elyria, Ohio, while actively exploring opportunities to expand into two additional areas of the state.

While we've continued to grow, our mission has remained the same: provide clean, secure, well-maintained storage facilities that make storing your belongings as easy and convenient as possible.

We believe the little details make a big difference. That's why we invest in security cameras, plenty of lighting, fencing, and gated access to help protect our customers' belongings and provide peace of mind.

One thing that truly sets Storage Red apart is how we design our properties. We understand that maneuvering a moving truck or trailer can be stressful, especially in tight spaces. That's why we design our facilities with extra-wide driveways and convenient layouts that allow customers to drive their U-Haul trucks and trailers around our buildings without ever needing to put their vehicles in reverse.

Our goal is simple: Drive in, access your storage unit, and drive out — no backing up required!

We take pride in the appearance of our properties and work hard to keep our buildings, driveways, and grounds clean and well-maintained. We want every customer to feel confident that they've chosen a facility where their belongings will be well cared for.

From our humble beginnings with just two storage buildings to our continued expansion across Ohio, we're grateful for the customers who have helped make Storage Red what it is today.

Meet Our Staff

Eli Miller - General Manager

I was born and raised in the Amish community of Kidron, Ohio, and moved to Danville at 14. Knox County has been home for most of my life, and I now live in the Fredericktown area.

Growing up Amish taught me the importance of hard work, honesty, integrity, and treating others with respect—values that continue to guide how I live and do business. My faith in Jesus Christ is also an important part of who I am and how I serve others.

With more than 10 years in the self-storage industry, I serve as General Manager at Storage Red. I take pride in providing clean, secure facilities and friendly, dependable service to our customers.

Outside of work, I enjoy golfing, snowboarding, and escaping Ohio winters for some Florida sunshine. I'm grateful to serve the community I call home and strive to make storing your belongings as easy and stress-free as possible.

Hosanna McFadden - Manager

Born in Alaska, raised in Florida, but Hosanna has called Ohio home for the past 14 years. An MVNU alum, she has been part of the Storage Red team since March 2025 and loves pushing her coworkers out of their comfort zones by creating fun reels for social media. When she’s not working, she has been a youth pastor for the past 9 years at a small church in Hanover. She’s also an avid thrifter who loves hunting for unique finds with her journalist husband.

Emily Pfleiderer - Manager

Emily has been keeping the books balanced for Storage Red since May 2026, and she brings a deep commitment to exceptional customer service and satisfaction. Outside of the office, you can usually find her enjoying quality time with her family while playing games and laughing, serving at her church or behind the camera capturing special moments through her lens.
